Had some issues towards the end, especially on complicated junctions, with the routine 'head-check, signal, manoeuvre' - and also, if you come to a stop or are on a major road, the second head-check (or life-saver).
I've found with biking, its a series of ups and downs. When you start you're extremely eager to learn, then you get scared by lack of experience combined with the dangerousness of biking. But as you progress and start to smooth out your actions, everything becomes enjoyable. Today for instance, I just felt like I was going for a ride around the countryside rather than constantly pressurising myself to over think everything.
I have a 1 hour lesson before my test next Tuesday. I think I'll try to solidify the head check routine and make a crucial effort to spot speed changes as this is one of my big downfalls - although I feel like I know the roads well, it will be a good habit to pick up for later riding and something I've neglected whilst driving a car.
Talking of cars, I can't stand being in them anymore. The driver is always too distracted and I find myself gripping the seat as we approach hazards. Perhaps this is down to me being stuck in learner mode but it's still I very uncomfortable situation. So just a heads up, you'll become a control-freak from learning to ride ;)
To anyone at the stage I'm at, good luck with your test! I know I'll need it.
