1 Month at Work

Well, been at work for over a month now and thoroughly into the routine of things. The bike has progressively got better, the engine has sorted itself out almost completely and feels perfect.

The weather is still rubbish, it has rained practically every day since I started, haven't had any issues on the road either. Bit nervous when in the work estate.. lots of trucks, fork lifts and metal shrapnel on the floor. Commuting 110 miles a week has completely drained my desire to go out on the weekend, this tied with finances means I don't have any wish to ride on the weekend - I think if the bike was a little more exciting, I would.

I've got a 130 mile trip tomorrow planned, 120 of those after work. Going from east to west coast, a pretty bring motorway journey really but my third long distance journey since I got the bike.

Personal Injury Claim is progressing, awaiting my final valuation now, supposed to get it tomorrow. Had a load of odd calls from insurers asking for information on my accident - I guess this is to prevent me from lying about the crash in the future.

Got my Accelerated Access booking for the 15th June with MOD1 on 11th June and some lessons beforehand. I've been practicing everything on the way to and from work but its difficult to remain so concentrated whilst commuting. In all honesty theres bigger worries than doing a double head check when pulling away. If I'm stopped on a hill with a 40 ton lorry behind, I'm just not going to bother.

Things that I'm struggling to remember are my indicator, especially when signalling common exits on a roundabout i.e. straight on. Also, head checks when moving off and leaving roundabouts. I think I've been hugely underestimating MOD1 as well, looked at a video and there seems to be a ton of pointless head checks when moving the bike for instance. I'm hoping the examiner will be slightly lenient considering I've already paid for my test... 4 times.

Anywho, off to pack and check my bike over.
