I couldn't keep myself away from classifieds, eBay auctions and window adverts.
I knew a lot about bikes before I could ride them, I found myself being able to recognise bikes from a distance.
Originally I was going to get a Hornet 250 and restrict it. Then I was going to get a 600 and restrict it.
Heres a list of all the bikes I seriously considered. I still don't have a bike!
Honda Hornet 250
Honda Hornet 600
Honda VTR250
Kawasaki ER-5
Honda CBF500
Honda Super Bros
Bandit 600
Honda VFR400
Kawasaki ZXR400 - My current choice as I follow vlogger 'extreme601'
At the start, I really wanted a naked bike (bike without fairings/body panels). I thought these looked more sensible but things changed. I realised a 125 was too small for me (I'm 6"3), a 250 would get boring and a 600 was too heavy. There are a lot of sport bikes out there and the upgradability was a big thing for me. I don't just want to learn to ride a bike, I want to know how to fix it. A ZXR400 can be modified in so many ways. At the end of the day, it's completely your choice, but I asked a lot of people and read a LOT of articles. I came up with a ZXR400 as the most practical, budget-friendly option for me, personally :) I'm working towards having the money to get one!
